planning an alaska trip and uncertain whether to spend time in the state's biggest city? Here are some of the best things to do in anchorage during your visit! amazing summer day trips from anchorage. One of the best things to do in anchorage is rent a car or take the alaska railroad for a day trip out of the city into. Since anchorage is the hub of the state we have a lot more amenities than a lot of cities of similar size in the lower 48. I enjoy having good access to stores.
